Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic care should be designed to fit an individual’s unique needs and provide comfortable care based on a patient’s individualized healthcare goals. Along with traditional adjusting techniques, there are many different techniques and therapies that Dr. Gorman can use to achieve patients’ goals and give them the most comfortable and appropriate care to help their body heal faster and allow them to get back to peak health and performance.

Dr. Gorman has been trained in the latest chiropractic adjusting techniques, which allows her to provide safe, comfortable care to each patient. Chiropractic care under a trained professional can even be used to prevent injuries and help you achieve total health and wellness.

Tool-Assisted Adjustments

Tool-assisted adjusting provides a more gentle approach to manipulating the spine.

Using an Arthrostim adjusting tool allows Dr. Gorman to more effectively treat patients with arthritis or osteoporosis, patients who don’t like the “popping/cracking” of a manual adjustment, or those patients whose muscles are very tense and sore.

Dr. Gorman can provide this rehabilitative taping technique that is designed to support the body’s natural healing process and provide lasting soft tissue effects to help prolong the benefits of the manual therapy done in the office. You can get the same taping technique used by the Pros. Please visit www.kinesiotaping.com for more information.

Dr. Katy Gorman having a patient do decompression

Decompression

Dr. Gorman’s Traverse City office offers both lumbar and cervical decompression therapy. Spinal decompression helps treat disc herniations or bulging that can cause radiating pain, such as sciatica. The goal is to create a negative pressure within the disc to pull back the herniation or bulge as well as bring in nutrients to the disc to increase healing.

Dr. Katy Gorman offering pregnancy care for women

Pregnancy Care

Dr. Gorman is certified in the Webster Technique to treat pregnant women. The Webster Technique is a safe and effective chiropractic analysis and adjustment for pregnant women that helps decrease the effect of sacral misalignment/SI dysfunction.  Pregnant moms are more susceptible to sacral and pelvic misalignments because of increased hormones (relaxin), weight gain, and changes in her posture, which is why I recommend chiropractic care throughout pregnancy.
