About Dr. Katy Gorman

Dr. Katy Gorman moved to Traverse City in 2012 with her husband and baby daughter, Claire. She grew up in Comstock Park, MI, attended Alma College and then lived in Chicago while attending Chiropractic school. She met her husband, Matt, at Alma and they have three daughters together - ages 11, 8 and 5. Matt teaches and coaches basketball at TC Central High School. Dr. Gorman officially started her independent practice in Traverse City in 2013 and added a second location in Kingsley in October 2020 and has loved helping families in both communities ever since.

During Chiropractic school and after graduating, Dr. Katy originally pursued continuing education with the goal of treating athletes, but as she started her own family and had her own pregnancies, she realized treating families is where her passion truly lies. She has continued her education in the areas of treating pregnant women and kids of all ages and is always learning new treatments and techniques. She also still loves treating student athletes and helping them get back on the court or field quickly.

In her time away from the office, Dr. Katy enjoys watching and coaching her kids in all different sports and activities, spending time outdoors in the summer, and reading on those cozy Northern Michigan winter evenings.

Why Chiropractic

Dr. Katy has always been interested in the human side of science and knew she wanted to do something in healthcare, but Chiropractic Medicine wasn’t always the clear choice. When it came time to apply to graduate schools, she felt pulled towards Chiropractic. She had been going to a Chiropractor throughout her life, including to treat all of her athletic injuries throughout college and high school. Dr. Gorman loves being able to build relationships with her patients and treat them as the whole person they are.
